i-Pod Just Died :(

    Hi Folks,

I have a 60GB photo i-pod that appears to have given up the ghost:mad:

Granted, I hadn't used it in a while since I bought the video version but I'm pissed off as I had plenty of music on it that I wanted to keep. I was originally getting this error message on the display when I went to play:

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61771

However, after trying all the tips that were mentioned in the link above I now have a pod that will not even respond when I press any button. It doesn't even give the original error message anymore.

Can anybody help please? Where is the best place to bring it to for repair?

    Is it still under warranty?

If the hd is gone then there's probably not much that can be done.

Call AppleCare on 1850 88 20 48. They'll be able to sort you out.

You could slap it around a bit to show it who's boss. It's suggested as a solution here:

(Try searching the page for "i decided to drop it onto my desk from about 3 inches up".)

It sounds mental but if the thing is knackered then it might be worth a try.

Maybe it's because it's an iPod and iPods generally suck.

(yes unhelpful...ban me, whatever....had to do it..)

There's probably more broken iPods than iPod "rivals" :p

one of my mates posted that. apparently its to do with the power connection of the hard drive coming loose, or some such.
