I think Flipper is over in London just supporting Marty tonight, they traded % before their heat, which Marty won.

    GL Marty! :)

I was half watching this and then this happened which confused me.

Player A raised with JT, player B pushed with A9.
Pot was 104K, player A had to call another 44K so the main commentator said that he was getting circa 6/4.
But then RoyBrindley said that if he called it was 44K to win 148K so it was better than 2/1 odds.

Surely this is wrong, and its 44K to win 104K that is the correct odds here, or have I been doing the maths wrong for the last 2 years ?

Was there a double-deck in operation btw ? ( like when a hand finished that deck was taken from the table and shuffled and another one was ready to go). It seemed to move quicker than Live TV Poker normally runs.

    104/44 = 2.36/1 = better than 2/1 odds

I was watching this also last night and I also think Roy was wrong. I'm not sure your figures above are correct though, cant remember, anyone else watch this:confused:

Roy clear added the amount the guy had to call, into the amount he could win when calculating the pot odds. Jessy May said 6/4, the Roy said no its better then 2/1. I remember thinking he was calculating it wrong.

BTW, thought the Greek guy was great TV, LMAO:D

They have a shuffling Machine at the Side, Where the dealers change deck each hand, same as the one in the Fitz €100 game table. The machine counts the cards aswell i think.

Marty played v. well but I was amazed with his move over Judah when he ran 22 into JJ....lucky to make the final table after that...played with him before his a solid player.....Greek guy showed his inexperience to lose 200k stack...should have sat it out v. tight and made final 6.

Did anyone else think the last 90 mins of last nights programme were the most entertaining 90mins of poker on the tele in a long time?

Demergis was great to watch, he was a lunatic of the highest order and was getting the best of sungstad.
It would have been terrible for the game if he went on to win the thing but it would have been great for the viewing public if he went on to compete in tonights final!

He was a legend, had no english apart from "all-in" or reraise...all in"! Jeese May was lovin it and proved again why he is an unreal poker commentator! I have watched feck all of the Poker Million this year, its pretty poor imo and is crapshooty way 2 quickly, and there are feck all characters at the tables.

The William Hill Grand Prix will be class when it airs, poker on tv has been crappy in the last 6mths, no wpt, the wsop coverage wasnt great either, and high stakes season 2 has yet to be aired

I saw some of the Austrian epm and the production was rubbish. The amount of background noise was one thing and the cameras trying to capture the action was haphazard. I couldnt watch on. I hope they improved it for the Dublin event but even if they didnt it should be good watching some people i know.

In fairness its not easy to do a running commentary for 3 and a half hours live, i think we can forgive him for that surely?

We were in the green room for all of it. He played great and was unlucky that Mel had one of six hands that can all his all in when he moved with 22(Mel's own words). I nearly puked when I saw the hands but he's confident about this evening.

There's a big party in the Marriott today at 6pm where we can all watch the final. Hopefully, he'll go all the way.

Mel might have said that but he was steaming at the time imo. He would have called with 10's, 9's and 8's and possibly 7's aswell imo.

Anyway i hope Marty Smyth does it, sounds like a nice bloke in the interviews.

three nice results in three weeks now flip, nice work:)

re the 2/1 well Roy is right, the money already committed to the pot is sunk so should not be considered in your odds calculation, so he is getting 104 for 44, BCB has done the maths
