not much hand analysis going on at the mo so I thought I'd throw this up.

opponent is very lag, and range is pretty wide, likes to follow draws, overvalues his hand and is prone to bluffing.

    he has 7.5k
    I've about 8.5k.
    5 handed

    blinds are 150/300.

He open raises to 800 in mp.

folded to me on the button and I call with jd10d

    blinds fold.

    flop
    aa8r

    Hechecks, I check.

    Turn.
kd puts diamond draw on the board.

    He bets 800.
    I repop to 2k.
    he calls.

    River.
    10.

    He pushs.

anyone think we might be ahead?

Some times a monster, some times high card 5, its not worth it tbh, as said before, wait for a better spot.

For fun, im guessing he had a monster with QJ

Standard raise? I've the button, my cards are sooooted!!, and the guys range is pretty wide. Plus I took a couple few pots off him earlier on with air when I called his raises in position, so I think I can outplay him pf.

Classic case of Ten-Jack-itis masquerading as a calculated call.

I would have played it more passively and lost money.
I would definetly call pre-flop, just call the turn and probably fold to a big push on the river.
How not to play J10 suited i guess but I'm sure thats how that hand would have panned out for me

I dunno about u lot but the river push to me suggested busted draw, I didn't think he'd make that move with an ace, so obviously I called. He had j10o. i thought it was a good call.

The stacks are still too short to be doing any type of flat calling preflop, ESPECIALLY with suited connectors. Cold calling 1/10 of someones stack is bad play period.

For the hand itself, the turn raise is only good if you are trying to induce an all in on the river. (its so small that he will call with any draw, miss and then panic shove) Since you have J high at the moment this isnt the line I would choose.

On the river I think you have to call

Haven't read any responses but I don't think I'm flat calling for 10% of my stack preflop with suited connecters here.

As played I think you're way behind on the river, you've enough chips to get back in contention....I think I fold here, really can't see him trying this with anything we beat, regardless of how much he likes to bluff!

I think he has either Ax or KQ here.

edit: read the responses now, you got the right result but I think you played the hand badly. If you do this 100 times I reckon you lose at least 80-85% of the time.

    You'd fold pf?

    Just call the turn?

Maybe I'm wrong, I thought I could show one card hu?

I seen it in a pub tourney where he showed both cards (like you) and yer man's hand was delcared dead.

It lead to a debate with the TD and he declared the hand dead. Yer man was sayin he'd seen it done on telly etc....
