It's roughly the same distance, give or take a couple of hundred meters, to walk from Pearse to the Luas as it is to walk from Pearse to Adelaide Road.

Simply put, turn left out of Pearse and follow everyone else towards Merrion Sq. Straight up Merrion St. to Merrion Row (crossroads), turn right then at the green turn left and walk straight up to the top of Earlsfort Terrace. Adelaide road is to the left.

Depending on which end of Adelaide Road, the 44 & 48A buses go by Pearse and stop on Adelaide Road.
