XBOX 360 now or after christmas?

There seems to be some pretty good deals on the 360 atm.
I was looking at a couple of places that have 4 decent games with the premium 360 for 499.
One place has premium plus extra wireless controller and 4 fairly decent games (GOW PES PGR3 and splinter cell dub agent)

do people think there will be better value/offers in the jan sales?

Doubt it, prob be better offers on games as thats what people r gonna be buying more of with their vouchers n that...

I had the same thoughts, but I bought the 360 a few days ago. Last year I waited till January for mp3 players to be in the sales, but no shops actually had them in the sales so it was a waste of time waiting. There's some great bundles right now, I'd say buy now.

yes but they arent doing the deal he states, only xtravision are doing a deal with those selected games

Best deal i see ,is gamestop henry st,6games premium pack 360 with 2 controllers 499Euro .ALso money off vouchers in package.

I don't think game consoles are in the same category as TVs/stereos when it comes to January sales TBH; my own recollection is that they sell at a certain amount above what they buy them for, and there is a finite market for them compared to TVs. Maybe some extra controller/points or something, more likely an extra game or two that is now a 1st generation game (e.g., PDZ or something) on budget.

Get it now. I waited until last June to get a 360 and I did regret having waited once I was playing as it is a great gaming machine, especially now with quite a good crop of "high quality" titles. GOW is brand new as is SC: DA. A Premium package is what €379 or something anyway, so those games alone would run you around €65 each if you shopped around, although Game in Dundrum are selling Double Agent for €44.99, if that's any help.

The only way I'd see a price drop on the horizon for 360s is if MS decide to do it before the EU launch of PS3, but they hardly need to because
a) there are going to be 26 PS3s in total allocated to Ireland
b) PS3 will sell out anyway - a price drop on 360 would not dissuade me from getting a PS3 if PS3 is what I wanted

Get it now, there are plenty of good games on it and the price is grand. If you are going to be constantly worried about the next price drop you will never get the thing.

I'm caught in this dilemma myself. Although I'm very unpatient so think I'll try and get one of the bundles before Xmas to be honest - when I'm finished my exams obviously!!!

I'm appalled that you think GOW is a decent game :eek: It's the BEST game on any console at the moment! But yeah, the deal looks sweet. Don't pass up on it or you might regret it later.

This deal is in smiths, have to take these games tho.

i would like to get the extra wireless controller but i think i might go for the first deal, so i can get PES6, GOW, Just Cause and Rainbow Six Vegas.

Might do it today, will just check what offers game/virgin/hmv have first.

LOL sorry mate was just joking. Much like 360 and Wii, there will be a shortage and there might as well be 5; probably won't be able to get one until mid-May or June, but I don't know maybe a spring launch = less christmas demand and it's also in full production already for Jap/US
