    Hi,

Myself and two friends are going travelling next year and will be staying in Australia for the first part of our trip. We will probably try rent an apartment for a few months, possibly in Melbourne. If anyone has any advice on where to stay it would be much appreciated. We would like one with broadband access, a decent price and a comfortable place in a decent location.
    Any ideas appreciated.
    Thanks

When I was there i stayed in an apartment near the Chapel Street area, within walking distance of St Kilda. It was good craic and a good location, with loads of bars, near trams etc. St Kilda is one of the mail areas for backpacker types to stay if you are into that sort of thing, and has loads of bars, restaurants and a seafront. To be honest, I am not sure if you will get a great kitted out apartment with BB as a short term lease, but if you look hard enough you will. Most letting agencies will not consider you for any of their normal properties due to the nature of most backpackers.

This is a good place to start and it will give you an idea of what's available. It was a great help to me when some friends and I were looking for somewhere in Sydney last year.

    Happy hunting.

look up the melbourne gumtree site. It is really handy for short term rentals.
