    Howye

Does anyone have or know about the sureloc 550 compound sights? Or just know about Sureloc in general?

I want to get the Sureloc 550 Challenger Ultra for Christmas but its on special order only so won't be here on time. Other options are the regular Challenger and the Challenger Supreme. The cost difference is quite big though! The Supreme seems to be lighter and has a load of fancy words like "no-lock design" and "tracking system" in its description ................. is it worth the extra few quid?

Sure-Loc, Copper-John and Sybuya are the top three sights. Anything you buy from these will perfect.

The Sure-loc is a great sight. The No lock system is excellent. Basically to adjust your sight you just have to turn the knob. No need to un-lock anything etc.

All of the following Sights are Non-Locking Sights

    Copper John A.N.T.S
    Shibuya Ultimina
    Sur-loc

Which ever one of these you buy you will have no problems at all.

    sure-loc's rock!

Had mine well over a year and its perfect. Never had any issues and the challenger is a handy setup. And it will not loose calibration no matter what you knock it with.

sureloc ultra is no better than normal challenger, weight saving is 19%, but it is not noticable. It is a really good sight and will do as good a job as the supreme, you just need to make sure the sight block is tight.

I was up with Keith last week and he has challenger in stock there.

You cant use the Challenger sight on a compound bow. (Although it will fit and work fine it will void your warrenty).

This is just what Sure-loc say.

    Thanks all.

For the extra few quid and to avoid nulling the guarentee I'll eat cabbage for the next few weeks and pay up for the challenger supreme.

Bit of a silly followup question, will the scopes I have for my current sight (taxomics and cartel) fit the sureloc or do they only take specific sureloc scopes? I have been fooled before!

    Your scope should be ok.

Yup, scope will most likely fit fine. I've got a cartel.

The only problem I've ever had with the challenger (I officially apologise for the wonderfully technical terms I'm about to use...) is that the screw on thingy with the rubbery bit at the end that fixes the sight to the sight block kept coming loose after shooting a while.

Just sand papered the end of the rubbery bit and it was grand again...

Got the sight, it rocks but has one major flaw - no allen key will fit any of the nuts!

I got a set of metric and imperial keys and none fit so the sight is unusable at the moment. Can anyone recommend a set of keys (altservices or otherwise) they they know are good for Sureloc sights? In the manual it gives some imperial sizes it uses (can't remember them offhand) but when I looked at new keys in the likes of Atlantic and Woodies they didn't stock them. Arrrggggggggg :(

I got two gorilla grips from alt services (one imperial and one metric). They fit everything on my bow (well so far) There's 9 keys on the imperial and 7 on the metric. It lists all the sizes they have on the alt services site.

When i got mine they sent a couple of allen keys with it, if you want i can dig them up. Can you let me know which sizes you need?
