Work in Australia - No Visa

Title says pretty much all, I used up my one year work visa last year but I want to head over for another stint next October in either Sydney or Melbourne..

Has anyone been in this situation before?
Are there many cash-in-hand jobs over there?
If they do exist, what kind of work is it (back breaking labour, bar-work, etc?)?
Which city would be the easier of the two to find this kind of work in?

And lastly, is there any way around this sitation with the visa, eg: I was told somewhere that if I got a passport with my name in Irish and applied for a first time visa again I'd probably get it.. bad idea?? Thoughts?

Thanks for any advise, and mods if you feel there is a forum better suited than this one for this can you move the thread there... cheers.

You know it's illegal to be in a country without a Visa, and if you have a visitors visa it's illegal to work without a work visa. Post Reported.

i suspect the australian government are a little more sophisticaed than that, and may actually base their records on your passport number, rather than your actual name.
    Thoughts?.

contact the australian consulte in london. they can give you advice.
