New to Sky+

    Hi sorry if this has been asked but couldnt find. i just got sky+ installed yesterday and am wondering about UTV. Should it be on the main sky channels or in other channels? Mine has it in other channels so i cant tape it, i know ITV etc is in there but thought UTV was now available on sky. If it should be on main channels how do i put it there? thank you

    It cant go into the programme guide and you cant record it using SKY+ you can only view it as another channel.

    UTV and all the other ITV channels and most of the BBC channels are nothing to do with Sky.

    Complain to EU, MEP, TD, Consumer groups etc about predatory monopolistic design of Sky+.

    Yes we pay a subscription for Pay TV. But EU law says our Digital Satellite receiver should be able to receive any Free To Air transmission. Sky only observes barely the letter of theant and no the spirit. It is a total abuse of the monopoly of NDS/Sky CAM that you can't record Free To Air or even Pay TV without an additional subscription.

    If you had lots of money and good lawyers perhaps you could prove that the inability of Sky+ or SkyHD to record "other channels" is illegal.

    You might also be able to prove that ADDING encryption to FTA programs recorded from EPG so that if you cancel your Sky+ or SkyHD you can't watch your FTA recordings on the Sky+ or SkyHD you entirely own is theft.

    thank you for your answers, i fed up now.:( took ages to make decision cos of ch4 now i have that but not itv channels to tape anyway!!! think i will email sky and log my complaint.:mad:
