    Help,
I've been playing Zelda since Friday. Tonight there's no sound coming from the game other than from the wiimote.
Other games and the wii menu are fine but for some reason not Zelda. When I put the disc in the identifier plays (you know the zelda theme) but when it goes to link on his horse before pressing a+b the sound goes.
Anyone else seen (and not heard) this?

    I'm guessing scratched disk
    sorry to hear

Is that likely, even if the game plays fine?
More importantly will Game replace it?

    Scratched disc?
It's brand new.Did you damage the disc at all yourself?
Check the bottom and if it's just dirty get a disc cleaner and give it a cleaning.
And if you damaged the disc yourself no Game will not replace it.
And your problem sounds a bit odd, wouldn't have thought about scratches on the disc if I had that problem...maybe the copy itself it faulty.
Have you anyway of trying it in someone else's Wii?
Or even trying a different copy of Zelda in yours?

Does the game have its own internal volume setting?

Herself went to Game today and the guy was a bit sceptical but exchanged it anyway. Same problem. So it must be the wii.
She picked up Madden as well and it's fine.
I tried formatting the wii (and lost all my miis) but no joy.
I was reading somewhere about zelda using midi for sound or something. that mean anything to anyone?
There isn't any sound settings on the game that I can see and it had been fine up to last night.
I've emailed nintendo but got no reply.
Anyone have a number for them?

^^ well in that case it definetely sounds like a faulty wii
can you not ask GAME about it seeing as its them who sold it to you

Ok, this is a long shot but it couldn't hurt.
You could try buying a lens cleaner and sticking it in.
Highly unlikely that dust could be a problem at this stage but you never know.
I'm not even sure a standard lens cleaner would work in the Wii due to the fact that it's not a Wii or GC optical disc, but it would have to spin it to know that so it should work really in theory.Although you may still want to ask Game about returning your Wii to either them or Nintendo for a replacement anyway.

I tsounds more like a software-configuration problem. the fact that the rest of the games are fine, and that the game runs fine apart from the sound makes me think that the problem is not hardware related.

You should read about zelda, maybe it uses certain features in the wii that other games don't use, I would go for turning the wii on without launching any game and going through the config. And try a different wiimote just in case.

If its only happening on Zelda then its not the Wii only the settings on the game!! I turned mine off somehow the first day I had it without noticing what I was doing!!
