I have flashed the firmware on this before so it would just be a matter of finding the correct firmware if it exists.

[edit]On an odd note - the symbol on the front of the player is the DVD- one not the DVD+ one

Maybe it just wont read -RW. Check with the manufacturer. They must have a website. And some email support.

It won't read -RW - not consistently anyway. But I don't know if this is a hardware restriction or a firmware thing. I've a feeling that it's hardware but I'd like confirmation of this.
