Who decided to wait for their Wii?

First of all apologies if this has been posted before and if it has mods feel free to close the thread. We can all see the madness that has gripped this board over the last few days / weeks with people scrambling frantically to get their hands on a Wii. But my question is has anyone decided to wait until all this craziness has died down. I have decided to hold off until after xmas as I just cant be bothered putting myself through all the stress of phoning around and going to obscure retailers hoping to get one. Is anyone else doing the same?

I plan to pick one up in 6 months time. Probably second hand from adverts.ie
I know they are reasonably priced so I won't save that much though.

Doing the same thing here. A friend is buying it for me for Xmas and so will giev me the money and let me go out and buy it when its freely available. I have my PSP and recently got a tons of games including Daxter. It has me gripped and will no doubt provide plenty of entertainment over Xmas until I get me a Wii.

I'm keeping a eye on boards and if I see Wii's for sale close by I might step out and pick one up. I'm not running around, calling and annoying the crap out of sales staff in the chance I might get one though.

Didn't have the cash for one at launch, and I have exams to worry about. Will try and get one after christmas.

I'm waiting till after Christmas - mainly due to lack of funds, partly due to wanting to maintain sanity.

I'd love one now but im only a few hours into Resi Evil 4 and i havent even started M&L partners in time so that keep me amused over christmas. I'll pick one up in january

I really want one but what worries me is when all the hype has died down and the console is widely available.. will we see the drought of game releases for months afterwards like what happened with the gamecube and possibley the n64? If Zelda, Wii Sports, Metroid Prime: Corruption and maybe Super Smash Brothers is as good as it gets for the next year is it worth my while get one? I really want one for Wii Sports and Zelda but what if theres fek all good coming out over the next year... that happened to me when i got my gamecube originally..

I will most likely have to wait till after christmas, this is through my own fault of not pre-orering!! Now I am frantically calling places to see when they are getting more stock in.

ive a preorder for a wii in smyths cork, im due to get one this friday.... but i dont have the cash for it after buying a 360 so ill have to wait till january to pick up a wii and zelda

waited till i played one till i was gonna buy one and after playing one that my drummer got the last day i must say mondo fun, so if i have some cash handy ill pick one up around feb/march next year.

I'm going to wait for a while to see what kind of games are released over the next year. The only game I really want to play is the Twilight Princess and I'm getting this on the GC. Now a new Zelda would be a totally different matter:D

I'll be waiting for a while too, and I'm not totally convinced I even want one. I'll take another look in a year's time, see if there's any games out there that make me part with my cash.

I only decided against a wii myself because I currently don't live with any gamers, and none of my gamer friends live anywhere nearby, and I really don't see much that would interest me as far as single player is concerned before mario and metroid and such comes along.

Until then I'll be happy with zelda on the cube and my new mindstorms kit-that would have been a wii had I decided to buy one
