Just purchased a 32" LCD TV, found out the brackets are almost a third of the price of the TV!! Surely there is somewhere that does cheaper brackets?? Checked out Argos, Harvey Normans, Pixmania and lcdtv.ie. Average price for a wall bracket (tiltable) is approx 210 euro! Anyone any ideas on this? Im betting there might be cheaper available online??

The brackets are mad money indeed.

Competition is so fierce and margins are so tight on lcd/plasmas that the only way the retails can make any money is through the bracket.

Ebay may work out a bit cheaper for a tilting bracket.

I have bought one from ebay for just under €80, I have also seen them in b+q for just under this amount so would go for that as no post etc

it seems the retailers are ripping off people with the brackets to be honest. a retailer in clonmel was prepared to charge a friend €200+ for a 42" plasma bracket which he ordered.
after a quick check online i priced a few at €80 as stated above. i told him to hold off and as i was in waterford that day id try sherwoods. they were selling ones for about €90. he went back to previous retailer and cancelled the order for the bracket. They then said they could order him one for €80 if he wanted. lets just say he collected the bracket in waterford the next day.
the one he got there is adjustable and im sure it would do a 32" screen if you are from/know anyone in waterford, it'd be worth a try

That's a great price...just a shame they charge £27 for delivery to Ireland...
I've been after one just like that for nearly a year now (at a decent price).

Check out Power City, the bracket depends on the TV you got. Was in power city checking them out myself at the weekend, can get a fixed one for 50, and a tilting for 120. They had a cheaper tilting (70) but it didn't fit the model TV I'm planning on getting in the sales (samsung 32 inch).

The guy I got talking to in there was very knowledgeable, must have been my lucky day, cause I usually get the newbies who only have a passing knowledge...

I saw one of these in Tesco, (near the TV's) I think it was priced between €25-€35 not sure if it was tiltable. Looked good quality, I think it was up to 32" screen.

I was actually in correspondence with a Chinese company a few months ago about importing brackets from China. You wouldn't believe how cheap they were offering them at compared to how much you'd pay in a retail store. Couldn't go through with it in the end due to the minimum amount that I would need to order.

I ended up getting the bracket off ebay in the end. It wasn't cheap, something like €50 and then €50 delivery from the UK. God! When I think about how cheap I could've got it for!!
