    Hi,

I am not sure if this should be moved to Games, apologies.

I am thinking about getting a game for my laptop and it gives a number of minimum requirements. The things is, i am pretty much illetarate about whether my comp has these or not.

Is there any place on compueter which shows what processor, memory, audio etc i have to see if it will match the game?

    Thanks in advance.

    Whats the game?

There are programs to download to let you know what specs you have.

Google "Belarc". Its software that will scan your computer for the specs.

    Other way.

    CPU and RAM:
Go to Start, Control Panel and System. Your cpu and ram will be detailed under the general tab.

    For your graphics:

Right click anywhere on the desktop and select properties. Go to settings and it will tell you there under display what your graphics card is. If it doesn't click advanced and check in there.

Well an easy enough way to find out is if you take screen grabs of msinfo32 and attach them to your next post.

Press the start button click on run and type in msinfo32 and press enter, now use winsnap (or printscreen) to capture the summary/window of msinfo32 also do the same for the components\display section.

From that we should get an idea of the parts on your system.

Other tools like Sisoft Sandra will give you a summary as well.

    you could also go:
    Start > Run
type the following into the run window -> dxdiag

most if not everything is displayed under these tabs

the "System" page shows your processor, Ram, operating system etc...
The "display" tab shows the graphics card details

Ya DxDiag is probably your best bet.

CoD 2 was a very badly programmed game & didn't run all that well in DX9 mode unless you had fairly decent hardware. Maybe it has improved with patches to the game but I couldn't say.

Anyway their is a strong chance you will be running the game in DX7/8 mode this means the game will fly along but it looks not too much different from the original CoD.

As long as your laptop doesn't have Intel integrated graphics's the game should run though do tell us what kind of graphics your notebook uses so we can let you know for certain.

To find out the graphics right click any where on the desktop, select properties go to the settings tab and it should say something like LCD display on....... (that being the type of graphics in the system)

Edit: About print screen after pressing the button open MS paint under the Edit menu select paste now save as a jpg file.

Sorry but it won't run on that. Here is a list from Intel of games that will:

No worries, thanks very much for your help, much appreciated!

Seems a fairly small list considering all the games out there!
My comp must be fairly crappy!

Does it take much to upgrade out of curiosity?

You cant upgrade those kind of notebooks, sorry your out of luck.

Small list as notebooks aren't primarily designed to play the latest games on. You have to pay a bit extra for that. As 8T8 said these cannot be upgraded.
