    im running firefox with adblock plus installed but it suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago, i tried un-installing and re-installing but it never worked.
    i have rte as my homepage and when it worked it was great but now it takes longer to load because of the ads, ive blocked them but then i return to rte they are there again, does anyone know how to get adblock to automatically block ads and to also get it to save ads that i have blocked.

    thanks,
    gar

    Download the latest version of Adblock Plus

    Uninstall the current version within Firefox (export your filters if you wish)

    Now go to;
    C:\Documents and Settings\Your user name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\********.default\extensions

    Go though each folder an open the install.js in notepad (right click->edit) till you find the Adblock Plus one then delete the folder so no remnants are left.

    There is also an Adblock Plus folder with in the ********.default folder delete this too - warning this will remove any filters you created.

    That should get rid of anything left behind now reinstall Adblock Plus say yes to the auto update EasyList USA filters. It contains a filter which will block those ad's by default if for some reason it is unable to do so use *doubleclick* as the filter & that will stop them.
