Battery Life of the Wii-mote

My Wii Remote has ALREADY run out of battery! I have been playing the wii quite a bit but 3 DAYS!!! They must use a lot of energy. Anybody elses running low? I have also noticed my wireless mouse for my pc runs out quickly too.I think ill invest in some rechargable batteries.

I went through the trouble and money of buying a few batches of rechargeable batteries and charging them up....the batteries in the boxes are still full according to the Wiimote settings.And I have been playing well over 30 hours now.

heya lads, I have to agree with Acecard, I bought high mHa rechargeable batteries , (2500) and they are lasting ages, playin countless hours of zelda and still havent had to recharge.

If so, i bought the same ones today... still haven't had to replace my original ones despite playing my Wii a load (well past halfway in Zelda )

Press "home" on the controller and it comes up down the bottom (I think anyway).

first thing i noticed when i got the wii was the batteries , why couldnt they make it so you can plug in the wiimote to recharge it from the console.

maybe there will be a recharge battery pack like the 360 off the usb ?

On the subject of rechargable batteries Nintendo discourage the use of them (for some reason not disclosed) and when asked were Nintendo planning any branded rechargables specifically for a Wiimote Regi said "That sounds like something good a third party could do". So looks like no Wiimote specific battery packs, at least not from Nintendo.

I dont see why rechargable batteries could make any difference.
I cant seem to find any batteries around the house, i guess its time to do the ole switch-a-roo with the DVD remote.
With regard to Zelda im about to face the Boss in Death Mountain. Wont be logging much game time thanks to work, but at least it lets me look forward to something while im in work.

Well it actually depends on how long you've played your wii. Example I played my wii the whole day basically when it came out, went out yesterday(Sunday) and ive been playing it mostly ever since so if you play it for ages yeah. And dont say you have'nt played your wii, only on regualar basis. Because mostly everyone imo would of played it mostly for the whole weekend and espicially realese day

I Q'd up at 8am Friday to get my Wii and I've probably played the Wii for 3hours since I got it? Some people have lives :P So no need to get stroppy :P

3 Hours Yeah people would have to go to work and what not but what would you do when you came back knowing you had a brand new wii waiting for you But what did you do on Saturday,Sunday and today. So battery would of gone out fast

Well a lot of hanging around with friends not at mine so we weren't playing the Wii. Went to party's Fri & Sat night. Tenasious D last night, recovering today. This is one of the things I was pondering about when I got the Wii, the battery life. I don't like how they mention that your shouldn't use most rechargable batteries as their not doing it so you buy once off Nintendo batts. So their must be some reasoning behind it.

I've played with my Wii pretty much nine or ten hours a day since launch (it's great being between jobs!), which tallies at around 35-40 hours of play. The wiimotes are still going strong on the free batteries that came with them. But I'll think about investing in some rechargeables. Don't see any reason why Nintendo should advise against them.

No, but I read it on support.nintendo.com.

The original Panasonic Alkalines that came with it lasted just over the Nintendo-estimated 30 hours.

I replaced them with some Duracell 2300mAh NiMHs, but they last about 1 minute before shutting off. Then I tried Duracell 2650mAh NiMHs and they've worked great.

5th day now and my ones are still full in both my Wiimotes.
And I also wouldn't see why Nintendo would recommend not using rechargeable batteries....Well I bought them now so I'm using them!....whenever these ones run out.:D
