Photograph clichés

Just looking at today’s (Monday’s) Examiner and the sports page has a photo of an athletic silver medal winner accompanied by the inevitable shot of her biting the medal to see if it’s real.

I was thinking how many times I have seen that before.

There are so many other types of reused poses and set ups. I know the photographer was trying to do something different then just having her pose with the medal but I think in general some people are running out of ideas.

    Other ones are
The Leaving Cert students jumping in the air on results day.
A group of golfers all pointing their clubs at the camera.

    Any others that annoy you?

any staged photo, particular while the rent a photographer has disrupted people from doing what they're doing to stage a photo,

photograping a good looking girl at an event rather then the event itself

the use of models in most cases, like in the northside news they had the launch of 10% biofuel DCC cars, so they had Vinnie J some other bloke and two models standing around the cars in the Dublin castle square, could they not have saved much C02 and left the models at home the councillors are well practiced at pointing at things themselves...

Photos of a person in graduation gown holding their baby - I guess it reassures newspaper readers that the middle classes are replacing themselves but *yawn*...

    The pointing photo too.

Potholes in the road, a new website launch or a dilapidated house will always have the person standing and pointing at said pothole, laptop or house.

I always laugh at the ones where the photographer obviously tells the person to look angry. Like the residents poining at the rubbish in their estate.
