You will just need the RGB cables , ignore the yellow one for video. Use the red and white for audio and Bob's yer uncle , HD ;)

Have you got a Dolby Digital AV amp ?

The cables shown here can output both component (red, green and blue) video and composite (yellow) video.

High definition would be over component and I imagine it will work perfectly with your tv.

If your TV is anything like mine which is a 32" Philip's HD TV it only has HD input on the DVI connection but it does come with DVI->Component Male Connectors.

This means that to get the 360 connected you will need either a a male phono to male phono interface or the xbox 360 VGA cable along with an VGA-DVI adaptor.

I have used both and for a long time I was using the VGA connection but I found that the this gave the colours a washed out look so I went back to using the component connection and the colour fidelity is a lot better, there is a technical reason for this but I won't bore you with it now.

Also see my previous thread on how to hook up to the Philip's TV.

BTW I now use the 720P 60Hz setting on the 360.

    Eh...

    You wont need anything,

Plug the Red green and blue component cables into the "Ext 4" at the back of that TV

And set it to 1080i or 720p in your 360 settings.

    Done.

    They are component inputs,

They will definitely carry the Hi Def signal no problem.

Its the exact way i have mine set up.

    Enjoy your nice visuals :)

    Tis true.

I was in the same boat as yourself NiSmo, I probably even have the same t.v. As you say,the manual only mentions that the 2 HDMI inputs are HD but if you select Ext 4 and then select the instal menu, the Menu Title will be "HD Menu" rather than "T.V. Menu" or something like that. The only difference I can see is that in the HD Menu if you're on an HDMI input you can manually select the resolution whereas on component this option is greyed out.

But not knowing for definate I mailed Philips Support and they rang me about an hour or two later and confirmed it. Component does accept a HD single and the t.v. selects the output depending on the input it gets. I have my 360 hooked up to this and if you have the PGR3 pack like me during a race select camera mode and take a pic, you'll really see the quality then.

Edit. just re-read one of your posts, I do have the same T.V. as you.

Is there a difference in quality between the HS comp cables that come with the xbox and an xbox HDMI connection into the TV?

Yes - huge difference - one exists and the other is fictional.
