[Req] Package to Japan, cheaply

    Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone has any pointers on how to get a fairly hefty package to Japan? Apparently they're suffering from a chronic shortage. Ghhh...

Ok, sorry, seriously, does anyone know the cheapest / best way to get a decent-sized parcel to Japan, for less than a mortgage payment? With An Post you're looking at 79 euro for a parcel up to 5 kilos in weight. Tried a Quick Quote on Fed Ex for the same weight and it's coming in around 142. DHL around the same. UPS's site is choking on the destination.

    Any better alternatives?

    Thanks!

I know this was posted a LONG time ago, but for anyone who comes across this again, you should try posting by Sea Mail. I dont know what its called at home, but im shipping some stuff from Japan to Ireland and itl cost about 60 euro for a 30kilo suitcase. Pretty cheap compared to what DHL etc will quote you. Hope this helps someone.
