to all the contributors of this forum.

You have all been a great help in learning the fine art of poker and I just wanted to say thanks and it is all appreciated. Well by me anyways!

It really helps to read all the various threads and hands posted here. I have a lot to learn but some of the stuff I read here really helps. Style/Position/Raise sizes etc. It's all good. Not even going to pretend I have a good understanding of hand %'s but this place has given me good fundementals.

A special thank you to either ian or NickOd (Can't remember which one of you posted it in the badbeat/lol thread) but the best nugget I have taken from here is "no cheap call for you...." :)

As much as I win and lose... no one gets a cheap call :D

    Keep up the good work!

PS Dunnes are selling off their poker tables n chips @ half price. 25 euro for the table top table thing...and 10 for the chip set

ah some times it is nice to say thank you. So my parents taught me. :p

    Currently...

    /AdKs

    Flop 2s10h10d
    Raise x 5 pot

    Collects..... :)

big bet after the flop..... gross overbet only getting called by someone who beats you, no need to bet so big.

Obviously got more learning to do.

a pot sized bet will easily make people fold here, no need for over betting, leaking chips to check raise

I won't argue againt your point. But as I said above I am playing my table. And there are call sations with rubbish who get the river etc. And some time the cards don't go my way.Trust me. I have learned how to suck out :) At times taking the blinds et al is a good play. And the "no cheap calls" is a good way to play.

    You have AK (2500)
    Villain ( 2000)

    blinds 25/50

you make 200 to go, villain calls

    flop 10 2 2 (400+)

pick your own info on villain.??

    You betting 2000 here?

If KQ, AQ, AJ, etc. will call, then it's fine.

    If it's a bluff then 1/2 - 3/4 pot is better.

P.S. Welcome in from the shadows DeuceAces

Ok.. i did just post to say thank you etc :) but...

I net 3000 a month from my job.
    I play Betfred/PPP/Stars/Ppoker/FTilt/AllIn

Small beans. 100 dollars etc in each. No more. Ever. Micro limuts and the odd 1/2 when i have the balls. Still got to learn to lose at those levels.

I have learned one important thing. to let my money go :) As for your hand? AK depending on the table 50/50 if I play it. The table being the important factor. For your suggested hand i would either no go or make a bigger raise. 800 or the likes. Villan can call but it's not cheap.

If a call is made... the flop + turn dictate the rest. On 10,2,2 no A/K on the turn is a check with a fold on the raise. But it's table dependant. I might raise to call/raise a bad player/bluff as I have enough to survive.

But given my stack none of the above might be worth my while. Sure I have a few blinds left in me....

Still learning! :D I am a newbie to poker. Go easy!

I am a bit disturbed by the tendency towards civility shown in here lately. Oh no, wait, that's what I want.

    Carry on.
