Is it possible to use any wieless network adaper to connect the 360 to your network? 80 euro seems a bit steep for what looks like just a regular wirless reviever.

The official MS adapter is the only one that you can plug directly into the xbox 360 via USB. There are other wireless widgets that you can plug into the ethernet port though, but they will probably not actually save you much cash unless you already have one lying about spare.

    Is it USB or ethernet?

If its USB then it will not work with the 360, if its an ethernet bridge then it might work OK for you.
