I wouldn't be sure about that. In germany the price includes delievery to your house, setting it up, checking functionality and taking away the rubbish.

In addition to that it comes with HDMI cable, component cale and scart cable. They are not listed in the irish one.

Bad time of year to ask people to part with 1300 notes regardless of how good the telly is (and it is some TV for that money). Some stores did sell out however.

The Lidl one is LCD. I'm pretty sure LCDs are more expensive than Plasma displays across the board. Perhaps a TV afficianado could clarify. Don't know if being more expensive makes LCDs any better than plasmas of course! So how much was the Tesco one?

I think its the other way around. Plasma is more expensive than LCD and each has its advantages and disadvantages.

For anyone interested, was in Lidl on Moore Street, Dublin about 3.30, and they had 9 of these stacked on a pallet near the back of the store.

I dont know about all that but i do know i got a tagra from lidl and i had to bring it back because of a known fault they sold it with and phillips are well known and generally considered a reliable brand. At the end of the day the plasma v lcd debate means little to me they are both flat and hd so i dont care which one is better they look the same when your watching telly and playing games, well to me at least but then i do ware glasses.
