    The first one you've linked to is useless, since there's no DVB-T in Ireland yet.

    I once had a stick just like the the second one you linked to. It had a different name on it, and different colours, but other than that the design was the same. It worked for me once and then stopped, so I ended up sending it back.

    The main thing to watch out for is the minimum spec that these TV receivers require. Most require 2GHz+ processors, which isn't that common on laptops. Because of that, the one that I got was the only hybrid DVB-T/analogue receiver (I live in Germany, where they broadcast DVB-T.) that I could find that would work on my laptop.

    And this is why I referred the OP to the terrestrial forum. There is a DVB-T trial ongoing here and most of north Leinster can get it. People have reported devices such as that working and picking up channels form the trial.

    I am quite surprised to hear that - do you have any links to back it up?
