Yep you just need to buy a VGA cable for the 360.

Certain games have v-sync issues when displayed on a monitor though, right?

After playing Pro Evo on a HD set, I really dont want to use a SD tv to play it anymore, but is the VGA cable a decent solution, given my lack of funds for a nice tv? :)

It seems to depend on the screen, I had no trouble at all with it and other people are driven mad by it.

Thats the one, the official VGA cable come with an adapter that allows you to connect it onto the cable that comes out of the monitor and connects to the PC tower.

The one made by Microsoft is the official one, some of the third party ones come with them but you will have to check before you buy.

Its called a VGA coupler if you need to buy one separate, Maplin off Parnell St. would be the easiest place to get them

Don't worry too much, I have a normal SDTV 22" old piece of junk, and the 360 looks incredible on it. I don't believe any of this crap about the 360 HAVING to be played on HDTV to look good. Of course it's going to look much better on HDTV, but Gears of war, Rainbow 6 Vegas both look amazing on a standard TV.

I was of the same opinion as you, until I actually saw the difference with my own eyes. It really is like night and day, there is a huge difference.

SO what playing them on a vga computer moniter makes em look better than a standard tv??

I take it it doesnt make it as good as hd though right?

yeah HDTV will clearly be better, but what I'm saying is that not having a HDTV doesn't mean the graphics will be bad, and it shouldn't stop the thread starter from getting a 360 - they still look great

Absolutely. That being said, once you've experienced it in HD, it's difficult to step back down to regular SD displays.

Yep games definitly look better on HDTV/computer monitor, but they also look great on normal TV's

I am suprisesd though, NekkidBibleMan, that you thought PES6 was much better! I think it is one of the few games out at the moment that remind you of graphics 5 years ago, great gameplay but man does those graphics suck on it!

I played the 360 on a 60htz samsung sdtv, and all the games looked great ,fantastic ,connect it thru the scart on rgb 1 av1 , i used rca yellow ,white, red, connectors . I forgot to bring a scart adaptor. Many games gow,pro evo, saints row require a 60htz tv to play on.av1 is usally fully wired connected on tv circuits.wait and see ,you can always get 19inch crt on adverts.ie 80euro apprrox.cable supplied with 360 works on rca,or thru scart adaptor to av1,or 2.

Hi, Can I ask a question on this thread that is a little bit off topic?
Would anyone know can the cable shown above work on the old XBOX?
I am looking to hook my old xbox up to an LCD monitor with vga/dvi connections.
Has anyone done this? Which cable would you use?

Sorry for jumping on this thread. If I should'nt have please tell me...

i dont think you can use xbox 360 cables, for XBOX1 .Peats are selling rca, composite video, svideo dual cable for xbox 1 ,price 1 euro ,look, in bargain cable box, special offers, behind tv section ground floor ,parnell st branch.only work on tvs unless your monitor has a composite input, rca type.Try google xbox 1 to vga cable.
