Fender Extender

I want to fit a fender extender to my '88 Magna. But as extenders are generic to specific bikes, and non are available for the '88 Magna, I need to adapt one to fit.
I got a brand new one from a '95 VFR (made by Pyramid) from a friend, but on a trial fit, found that it was 1/2" too wide. VFR = 5 1/2" to my Magnas' 5" wide front mudguard. Also the circumference curl is not exact, but that is not very noticable. My front wheel is 19", while I believe the VFR wheel is 18".?
So, does anyone have an extender fitted? If so, what size is it? And what bike does it fit?
If I can get one that is fairly close to a fit, a small alteration is not beyond the realms of fantasy.
Can anyone help, please. I would really love to minimise some of the crap being thrown up into the lower front engine area.
I have put a pic of the extender here. Thanks. Phil.

Give Pyramid a call , i think their website is pyramid-plastics.com. They actually make the "Fenda Extenda" and they might be able to tell you what one will fit your bike.

Been there, done that. I also tried every extender vendor at the show in Birmingham. I even asked if they had a schematic that showed the sizes of various models produced. No luck. One guy even suggested getting an old truck mudguard and to make one out of that. Nice idea, but I don't think that it would look right.
Hence the call for help from other extender owners.
