Got my Wii!

[I feel it warrants a new thread because I thought I wasn't getting one]

Had mine preordered at work but couldn't get one because we only got 2 consoles and we had 3 preorders, but one didn't pick his up - he will wait until this week for his, so I got mine!

I hadn't a clue which game to get, Zelda did not appeal to me at all, neither Red steel. Didn't have any Wii play, so I got monster 4x4 for the steering wheel thing.

But if the game is sh*te, I'll be bringing it back for rayman.

Anyone tried this game yet, I haven't hooked up my Wii yet. Which is the best game so far?:

rayman is actually a lot of fun - quite a shocker as i never liked any of the previous rayman games - this one is a colection of silly mini-games (80 ish) and quite funny too - one of the better launch titles - check some online reviews for more info - ign.com are usually good for objective reviews

Might be something to do with it being totally different to any other Rayman game you know.

your so lucky, i want one so badly. i found out (for definite) they had some in argos, when i got there they said they never had any (i know for a fact they did, i also know they had them while i was there. i was so pissed off and there was nothing i could do)

Zelda is the best game so far

Got RayMan too. Don't think it's really my cup of tea tbh. So far not much of a story to the 'story' mode, just a lot of frustrating mini-games that you have to keep doing until you get right.

Wii Sports is fantastic fun.

Let us know how you get on with Monster 4x4 (that's Excite Truck in the US, right?).. thinking of getting that for some driving fun.

How did you know? That sounds a bit mad! Did they make a balls of their preorders?

edit: Goodshape, a google reveals that they are both different (but similar) titles!

a manager in nutgrove told me they had them, he rang up infront of me and confirmed it, and told them to hold it for me (again while i was standing infront of him)
when i got there they said they never recieved a call, and that they never recieved a delivery of them >.<

Monster 4x4 and Excite truck are totally different.

Monster 4x4 is a ps2 port, and I think its by Ubisoft. (Could be wrong)

Excite Truck is built for the Wii, and is by Nintendo. From everything I read Excite Truck is miles better.

Yeah, excite truck looks better, although some of the videos of 4x4 look fun.

Although I haven't played it yet, can't play my wii til xmas, orders of the girlfriend, I think I'll swap this for something else instead. Hard to know, nothing else appeals to me though.
