Only that your wife/GF will find it harder to track your porn usage :D

Seriously...only issue should be that your often visited webpages will take longer to load and you might have to log back into sites that would normally remember your preferences.

I don't think there are many side effects apart from the websites you visit remember your preferences again.

Each page and image you view is stored on your hard disk in this folder for future browsing, so you revisit the site and your browser will pick up the files off your hard drive instead of going to the webserver again.

However, you can't be sure that the files stored on your hard drive are up-to-date to those on the webserver. Most browswers have the ability to pick up the most up-to-date files though. It can take a while if you have a lot of files (or cache as the folder is called sometimes) to sort through.

If you are going to delete the files, do it safely and correctly. Link here for more info.

You might have to re-login to some sites... oh noes!

To give you some perspective, there are only 18 sites I allow to set cookies in the first place... everyone else can fock off... the vast majority of cookies are useless crap of no benefit to me.
The only thing I'd watch out for is make sure you know your login details for when you have to log back in... or that there's some kind of password retrieval system on the website. (eg. 'Forgot password?' links etc.)
    That's it really problem-wise.

It can be done through the browser itself.

You could download CCleaner Lite, works very well or in Tools->Internet Options->Delete Files in Internet Explorer.
