Why have they made it so hard to get online?

I'm on NTL BB and unless I buy a wireless router I won't be getting online :(

There is supposed to be another accesory (not out yet) that will allow you plug an ethernet cable into the USB port.

Or you can buy a Nintendo USB wireless transmitter for your PC and use that.

On the other hand a wireless router is only about €40 and is probably more useful (if you ever buy a laptop, PSP, etc. later.

I got one free with my NTL for some reason. They prob did that to cut down on costs/size of machine. I do agree it's awkward though

I like that it's got wireless built in, connected to my router so easily, no bother setting it up at all.

Yeah, I am in the same boat. :(

But something is pissing me off even more, HOW THE **** do you get an SD card back out? (and no, I didnt put it in the wrong way)

Cant seem to get it out

Nope, it was stuck in real good (and yes, could view pictures on it, so I didnt damage it/put in wrong way)

Had to remove with tweesers (spelling?)

Yeah, I love that it comes with wireless built in and setting that up was quite straight forward (although I had to change broadcast channels), but it would have been nice to have the choice of ethernet too.

You push it in to take it out. Worked OK here.

Connected to my wi-fi with no problems whatsoever. Lovely stuff. Downloaded Donkey Kong and Mario 64 - two games I've never actually gotten aroun to playing fully before. Fantastic stuff.

I'll probably download Golden Axe at some point. Fond memories of that game.

It probaby would have taken less than 1cm cubed for them to put an ethernet port on it, but oh well. Most people have wireless routers these days anyway, even if they don't need them.

On the plus side I had no trouble at all setting the Wii up on a WPA-PSK connection, even though windows can be a right pain in the same situation.

It was NEARLY as good as Streets of Rage.

    Yep no probs here.

Connected to my Airport Express BaseStation straight away.

Took fecking ages to get the updates though ? What were they all about...

I'd say the servers are a bit overloaded due to it being the launch date, even downloading donkey kong country took a few minutes on a 6MB line

Yeah I'm sure their servers are gettin bombarded today with everyone connecting and updating.

Mind you, I'm on a 3MB line, and it took me about a minute to download Donkey Kong Conntry tops. I like the 33%, 66%, 100% mario animation too :D

I also downloaded Bomberman '93, for some old school multiplayer fun, when I go up home, I should be able to have 5 player on it, my two wii-motes, my wave bird, and my younger brothers wavebird and standard GCN controller. :D

hehe, I downloaded it with the same plan in mind.
Had some great games of that with a mate on a PC engine emulator years ago

It's great even in single player tho!!! :D

It's not quite as good as the bomberman arcade game I have on my MAME, but not far off it!

how much do the virtual console games cost?

is there like a set price for them all or is there a separate price for like nes/snes/n64 games etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

    NES ganmes = 500pts,
    Turbogfx = 600pts,
    Megadrive + Snes = 800 pts
    N64 (only Mario 64 so far) = 1000 points
