faulty webcam cd

I have bought a webcam and when installing it I got the following warning:

CD not "numerically signed" by windows... risks ... (can't remember the rest)

Basically, the CD is not validated by windows and this morning my computer was running very slowly and had to shut down to protect my computer (this was after I had uninstalled the webcam completely). It seems the CD has damaged my computer although everything is running ok now... but for how long??

is there anything I can do to make sure windows doesn't shut down again ?

Try a system restore and then get the driver for your webcam online, just google the make of the webcam and search for drivers

have done that too, and not solved problem. My mouse cursor keeps blinking which means computer could shut down at any moment.

Have double checked i removed all components so can't see why there is still a problem.

Perhaps I need to totally reformat my computer ??
