Wireless Rear Surround Sound Speakers

    Hi

I want to turn my rear speakers into wireless speakers. My current set up is an Onkyo receiver with Onkyo speakers, 3 front, 1 sub and 2 rear.

However it's not really practical for me to wire the rear speakers at the moment and wanted to hook them up wirelessly to the receiver.

I've come across this which may help me.

Would this result in much of a reduction in sound quality?? Would there be a time delay between the front and rear speakers?? I can adjust the distance on the receiver anyway maybe to overcome this.

Any help would be appreciated, as well as where I can get the product above as it seems they don't ship to Ireland!!
    Thanks

Hmm, I'm no expert, but here's a few thoughts..

I don't know if this kind of hardware is designed for split channels (i.e. distributing the rear channels, and then using them with the front channels delivered from the front speakers.. Seems to be more for distributing the entire sound source around a house (stereo).

Ýou'll most likely have a delay between the front and rears, so you will need to delay the front speakers to keep them in synch.. This may introduce synching issues with video (I'm assuming you'll be outputting the sound signal from video sources too?)

You'll need a power source at the rear too, as the amp/receiver needs to be plugged in. It might all work, but it could also be an expensive mistake!

Finally, is 5.8GHz legal in this country? and the product needs a 120V-AC power source, so you might need a step-down transformer, if they don't offer a Euro/Ireland compatible power supply.
