    It's a chess board.

I wasn't sure if I could post this here but I'm afraid if I post in the chess forum most of you won't see it.

There seems to be a lot of poker players on the poker forum who play chess.

Would there be any intrest in a Poker boards forum chess tournament?

Maybe played on line/final can be played live or something?

    Mods slap my bitch up.

I bet ye are all better than me. I'm not playing as I lost my love of the game after beating Deep Blue in a 50 game session that lasted 7 months.

I was sure this was going to be a "move it to the chess forum" post ;)

I'm with the bulk of posters, haven't played in years but would give it a lash.

Maybe one of the other mods might think this, but I think this thread would be pointless there as Brian has said he would like to challenge poker forum players.

Maybe this could be an interdisciplinary event with Backgammon, scrabble and a couple of other things too? Probably way too complicated though to do that, but it would be kind of a non poker 'HORSE' type event.

Well I vote for Dom to organise such an extravaganza. It would be fun.

Oi! Don't try and get out of it.

I tried to pon it off on you and pon it off on Dom?

I say both of you should do it.

Dom, I say you pon it back onto the original mastermind... :D

Seriously though, what do people think? Whcih of the following?

    1. Stop hijicking NTL's thread, and lets just play chess.
    2. Go for more events, a 'Pentathalon for Poker Players' (you've gotta love alliteration). Make a draw, and the each tie is made up of 5 events, first to 3 wins. Events so far possibly include Chess, Draughts, Backgammon, Scrabble and a fifth one, possibly, but preferably not heads up hold'em (any better ideas).
    3. I told you to stop hijacking the thread!!!

I think putting scrabble in is giving Roundtower too much of an advantage
