I've just spent €1449 + €76 delivery on a Sony 32V2000 and I'm delighted with it. You'll probably get different brand with a bigger screen for the money, it's down to your own preference really.

I was just going to start this exact thread :) looking for new TV ~1500 euro

I have following Cooee's dealings with Technik with great interest.

Just pulled this off the site

    http://www.technikdirekt.de/main/en/lcd-plasma-tv/821616/-/Article.html?viewmode=box&bigimg=1

Ive no idea if its good or bad though, my TV knowledge is abmissal. Ill post any prices I come across though, maybe some one else could filter my posts :)

Sorry to hijack your thread with a question but why LCD and not Plasma? (Just curious, no idea of the differance)

Thats a pity it was under the LCD-Plasma-TV, but really like I said I don't know very much about TVs

This one is going for € 1599.00 but you can bargain anyone down. Say you have gone to harvey normans (haggle with them first) and then go to DID (and do the same). They'll offer it for € 1500 to match harvey normans. Well they did for me !!! :)http://www.comet.co.uk/cometbrowse/product.do?sku=324442&cm_ven=Kelkoo&cm_cat=Feed&cm_pla=Plasma_and_LCD_TVs&cm_ite=324442_PHILIPS_42PF5421D0

    It's a fine 42" LCD tv.

HMmmmmm, yes its a projection TV but its based upon 3LCD technology so its actually a bit of both and that what Sony says and they should know.
Why would I know that, because Sony were offering €150 off their Bravia LCD tvs at the launch of SkyHD and this TV was listed under LCD, also the Bravia models do not include RPG TV's.
Anyhow, mute point kinda, OP if you like the look of the TV go for it, lot of purchasers here on boards and lots of happy customers, currently retailing at around 1400-1500 here on the sod
