card not charged

    ordered laptop over a week ago from d#ll, checked the order status today and its down as dispached yesterday, the thing is i checked my credit card account and no money has been debited yet, how's that work?

    I guess you'll get charged in the next couple of days.

    They probably charge your card as soon as it was shipped (not sure though) so give it a day or two more. Give Dell a buzz if you have any concerns.

    thought the card would have been debited before they started building the system, is that not the way its supposed to work?

    I bought a computer from Dell about 3 years ago and they didn't debit my card until almost a week after it had been delivered.

    Also companies who accept payments via credit cards are not obliged to charge the customer immediatly. Think they are allowed wait up to 30 days.

    Happened to me before using a 3v voucher before I got a mastercard, ordered something from the USA, never charged the card, received the item and spent the rest.

    Ho-hum.

    When I bought my laptop, the charge showed up 5 days after I placed my order with Dell (3 days after the laptop arrived). I think they're just lazy about processing payments.
