I've been watching this for the past 4 weeks since it started. The guy is a f**king ledgend, everything that comes out of his mouth is funny.

The one last tuesday night was in Germany and Eastern Europe. I think the first episode was in Russia and that was a real eye opener, I can't believe they really drink that much.

I've seen a couple of episodes of this, didn't like it at all.

Dom Joly comes accross as a total asshole imo, and not in a perticularly funny way either. I actually thought it might be interesting to see other cultures habbits and attitudes towards drinking, but this is almost compleatly overshadowed in the show by Joly's totally condesending attitude towards everyone he meets.

Haven't seen this show yet but I can't stand Dom Joly. He had a show a few years back, might have been on bbc3. Had a live studio audience, can't really remember what happened in it, if anything. Anyway he was a total condescending asshole in that show to everyone and his comedy act was just him insulting people in a totally harsh and unfunny way.

I get what you mean. I actually find him quite funny at times but it gets too much...

And it's such a good idea for a show that it could've been so good. I, too, wanted to actually learn about the different drinks, the drinking cultures, how they're brewed etc. but you don't see much of that with Dom Joly over powering us with jokes. The subtitling the foreigners was funny at the start but afterwords I just wanted to know what they were really saying

Still, I like it. I think I missed the last episode (where was it in?) but I've seen the rest of them.

The last episode was in India, fairly off the wall but a highly enjoyable series. My gauge is my better half, if she finds something funny and entertaining then it must be as she's usually hard to please in that aspect.
