    good morning.

have tried searching the forums and "videohelp.com" for an answer to my query but to no avail. not very knolledgeable about these things.
my query is, can i convert audio part of a recording (songs etc) recorded on my dvd recorder on my pc, save to media library and then burn to cd?. may i say that i want to do this for entirely personnal use only.
the dvd recorder records in mpeg format
the pc has a dvd rom drive and a cd/rw drive. no audio in connection

    thats as much as i know(not a lot )

    would appreciate any help,thanks shovel

BeSweet will do this for you. There is a nice frontend for it called BeLight. You may need to edit the file to only have the part that you want to convert first. VirtualDub (using copy) will do this for you with relative ease (though it does take some getting used to).

Check doom9.net for video / audio editing guides.

thank you khannie for your reply.

i have to admit that i don't know what some of the reply meant. all i can do on the pc is the basic copy of a cd.

will check out doom9.net but will probably be back with more questions.

    thanks again.

sorry, back already. have had a look at the doom9 site. definitely a newbie at all this. most (99%) all double dutch to me.going to stick to the newbie section for the time being and maybe learn a bit

to khannie or others, any chance of a simpler reply (very simpler). honestly don't have a clue. as i said in post 1 the dvd recorder records in mpeg. i don't even know what format the pc uses.

the pc will play a dvd recorded on dvd recorder, but thats it. can i save the recording to the hard drive on pc and how? AND what do i do after that?

    appreciate any advice

You can demux the audio using DG Index even if it's in a VOB or MPEG container into an AC3/WAV file and then feed that into whatever program you want like BeSweet* to convert into something else.

Click File->Open and select the MPEG file for VOB set under Audio->Output Method select demux all tracks. Then under File select demux audio only.

If it's AC3's your demuxing use AC3 Filter for playback in Windows Media Player. Once you have your file you can then do whatever you want with it, like convert it into WAV and burn to CD using Windows Media Player.

    * BeLight GUI is much easier to use in conjunction with BeSweet. Just extract BeLight into the BeSweet folder and run BeLight.
