Bizarre IMDB threads game

Okay, mainly out of boredom, and partly due to needing to look like I'm doing work (my boss keeps coming in!), I thought we could play a bit of a scavenger hunt type game.

Basically, it stems from the fact that IMDB, although a veritable oracle of film knowledge, is also full of weirdos. I'm sure many of you, like me, cruise the various films and are amazed at some of the weird things you can find. So, I thought we could have a challenge to find the most bizarre thread on IMDB. These can be outragous claims, inane arguments, crazed fanboys going on a rant, or anything that makes you wonder how any god could let these people exist!

So to start the ball rolling, I present this. A post I mentioned in another thread, but it's good one, where a guy claims that the film "The Philidelphia Experiment" really happened.

So your turn. Mods, feel free to make this a sticky because it's the best thread ever, smack your foreheads and sigh because it's the worst thread ever, or just siteban me for wasting time.

Everyone will have to register, so I don't think most people will bother. I know I won't!

Ah yes.. my IMDB Message Board rant. Been waiting for this!

    [rant]
To be honest.. the IMDB Message Boards are my single biggest pet hate about the whole "Interweb"!

    Here's an even tougher challenge:

Try and find one message board for a somewhat well known film which doesn't contain anything resembling the following 5 threads:

    - "Worst Film Ever?"
Followed by an never-ending barrage of either "may be your opinion, but it's not mine" or "begone ya vile troll"

    - "The Ending?"
At least one person will fail to understand the ending of a film.. whether it's "Mulholland Drive" or "Charlie's Angels".. there's always one!

    - "How big was X role in the film?"
More for independent films but you'll usually get teenage girls posting to ask "how big was Hunky McBeefyson's role? What did he do?"

    - "Did X get naked?"
Yep.. for the teenage boys. Even though the film is PG-13, you will always see at least "Did Natalie Portman have a nude scene? Did she get out those sweater puppies? How were they etc?

    - "X Ripoff.. this was made 5 years ago as a independent Czechoslovakia film"
No matter how independent a film's storyline might be.. there's always someone popping in either saying it was a rip-off of a small independent film, The poster's own film ("made in my hometown, it had a budget of a donkey and a carton of milk"), or just because it shares it's name with another film - "are they related?"

And a subchallenge.. try and find the message board at a somewhat well-known male actor (who's somewhat reserved and not dating anyone) without the question "Gay?" on the board.

I love IMDB but as you can guess, i absolutely loathe their message boards. The only thing they're useful for is looking up a song / piece of music in a film. And you can bet the same piece of music will be asked for 10 seperate posters spanning 2 pages of threads!

Ah, it has it's charms, like the guy who asked was Amelie like Platoon or Full Metal Jacket.

I too have a distaste for the IMDB message boards. Does anyone who posts there regulary watch the films or merely read through the description.

I had one guy argue with me that Miami Vice the film was terrible, simply because Mann spent most of the film setting up Crockett and Tubbs relationship. Obviously he saw a differant film to the rest of us.

Its not that guy is it?
Do any of you remember about 6 or 7 years ago maybe more i don't relay have a concept of time. But anyway do you remember a guy who had a website and he claimed that

    Star Trek
    Star Wars
    Quantum Leap
    Sliders

Nearly any sci-fi show or movie you can name, he claimed that they are all real and that the reason they are TV shows and movies is that someone traveled from the future back in time because they wanted to make billions selling these ideas then put the money into a bank account so back in the future the interest makes it trillions......... *Cough Futurama*
