If that were true I'd be guessing it would be an X-Rated New year's eve party.

Sure I'd have thought that RTE would have brought Gay Byrne for it - he usually does it (up until a year or two ago, I stopped watching RTE's New year's eve thing then)

Podge and Rodge have being fairly dumbed down this year from what I have seen of them. I wouldn't be too excited about them hosting the NYE party. In saying that it is an improvment on Tubirdy.

Typical rte...get something half decent and start flogging it to death, podge and rodge are bout half as funny as they were this time last year, you cant blame the producers for goinig for saturation point with the dolls and tatyo products , but i reckon they will be dead on the water in 12months more....course they're safe enough for another 4years after that with rte.

    Ah, FFS

Could RTE have made it any worse - I suppose only if Pat Kenny presented it. Jigs and reels

That is so true, Can't understand people still getting excited about them, fair enough if they have good guests like Freddie Starr & Johnny Vegas but their routine is boring almost as bad as gift grub

In fairness, Podge and Rodge would be the last choice I'd have for New Years Eve on RTÉ 1.

NYE is very much a Light Entertainment show, and the change from a Kenny/Byrne/Tubridy show would be too much for the old dears who don't go out and stay at home on NYE. The complaints to Joe Duffy would be too awful to take.

The definitive answer, according to the Mirror Xmas Tv supplement....

RTÉ 1 - Celebrity Jigs and Reels. 11:15pm-12:20am
    RTÉ 2 - Podge and Rodge's Bogmanay 11:30pm-12:20am

    A choice of viewing. :)
