After having the tank for years I've decided to get rid it but I've no idea what to do with the fish I've left. Would a petshop take them back or possibly buy them? I really don't have the heart to kill them.

These are just like the two I have left

I was in a similar position, although I didnt want to give them up. The local pet shop took them no bother!

I should hope you don't have the heart to kill them!!!!!!!!!!

Log onto irishanimals.ie and petsireland to get more views there are a few fish fans on there.

Some pet shops (not all) don't know enough about fish they would be better off in a specialised shop that deals only with fish and knows what they are doing.

I had a massive (5ft long) fish tank when I was a kid. Some of my fish grew to scary sizes to match their commodious tank. My 'sharks' were particularly impressive.

Anyway, the local pet shop took them no problem, even though they made the rest of the shop's fish look comically small.

If you decide to kill them, make sure to keep it a secret ;)

ps. I'm surprised nobody on this forum has offered to take them. Free fish - it doesn't get any sweeter than that!

    Forgot about this thread :s

My local garden centre/pet store agreed to take them and I'm just about to take them out. Really not looking forward to grabbing the big fella, I've had to move him before and he freaked out as soon as I touched him.

I've had him since I got the tank and everything else has died over the last 6+ years this thing is still stuck to the same corner. Although I'm quiet fond of him at this stage :)
