    Hi,

I thinking of taking up the clarinet as my first instrument. I was just wondering does anybody know where I can buy a cheap beginner's clarinet:D

I used a Selmar Clarinet as a beginner - and I still have it. It's still in perfect condition. When I was starting I was told it was best to start with a plastic clarinet rather than a wooden one - I've played both and, tbh, can see no real difference. Nicer sound from the wooden one but it requires a little more care.

The most common clarinet is a Bb - I've just checked Thomann and the cheapest seems to be just over €600. Maybe check the Buy and Sell and post a wanted ad on adverts.ie.
