Is anyone excited? I'm having hot and cold moments, where I'm really excited, and not excited at all.

Feels weird to buy a Nintendo home console again, I haven't had one since NES.

Anyway, the games started arriving earlier this week at work, here's some pack shots for NFS:Carbon on Nintendo Wii. Front & Inside case.

This whole week is just revolving around the Wii. When should I collect it? How should I display it? Should I buy a new TV to make my Wii look cool? Are there any new gameplay videos over at YouTube?... Crazy. I haven't been this excited about a toy since the N64.

It's nice to see some photos of NFS, but I've heard that game is buggy as hell. Shame, I'd like a good racing game at launch.

Its a shame my girlfriend is buying it for me - cant play it until christmas!

At least i know I definitely will have it for christams unless xtravision rathmines monumentally f**k up!!

Taking out the money, seeing the game cases and watching someone play it today really drove it home how close it all is and now I am in full excite mode. Not even the projects looming over my head (one due today and another Monday) are distracting me from my Wii thoughts.

Defo! Still if i didnt get it as a present I probably wouldnt be getting it so soon. Apart from Zelda it looks like it will be another few months before anything worthwhile appears.

(Before any Nintendo fanboys start hating one me, I am aware that COD3 and Far Cry are looking good but I have them on other systems so is there any point buying them again?)

I'm not big on my FPS but the thought of how it'll be implemented with the wiimote is making me pretty damn curious. Imagine using it as a gun? I think that'd be pretty damn funky and would give a totally different kind of gameplay to those on other consoles.

Well the other half is buying it for me as well but there's absolutely no way I'm waiting until Chrimbo to play it; this week is going slow enough:( I'll be picking it up myself on Friday morning and then spending most of that day playing it until the other half comes home then we'll both be playing it:)

I'm in the same boat as damiennolan - girlfriend is buying mine for me so can't have it 'til Christmas, LOL.

But I'm happy that she wants to play it too because she thinks it looks fun.

The good thing is that me and my girlfriend will be both going to our own respective homes for a good week over the christmas period. I plan to tear through Zelda in that time!

I've got two pre-order-less friends coming over on Friday to help break in the console. I've also told my parents that I want them to play the games a bit (as an experiment).

Firday is Wii-Day over here.

Can't F*cking Wait!!!!!!!

I've never bought a console other than a handheld at launch but the Wii has just gotten me so excited again about gaming.

Seems Praetorian has gotten a Xbox360 so between zelda and co-op Gears of War on a lovely HD TV it's going to be a game fuelled weekend for me.

Only problem is that our research group Chrimbo party is on that day so will only get in about 2 hours gaming at most on Friday and miss most of Saturday if the last two ones are anything to go by.

It's weird, I wasnt that bothered about getting one.. Zelda is the only 'real' killer app for launch and it's near identical cousin is available a week later on the cube...

So I thought I may not bother, then I decided feck it what the hell and pre-ordered one from the states and forgot about it.

A few weeks later I was in smyths and decided I'd pre-order one. At this point I wasnt sure which I'd get, I would have much prefered a region free machine. Plus there's still a big ???? over whether Freeloader actually plays properly for cube titles.

Now as the release gets closer, I'm looking forward to it (meaning I've already been onto gamestop and syths today just to see if anything came in) and the tension is beginning to build up....

I want component cables, just hope I can get them, if not i'll by the RGB scart as I'm not paying €300+ for a console and some games to put up with a total sh*t composite phono picture.

It's annoyed me games I finaly was looking forward too arent going to be released until Feb/March

Excite Truck, Trauma Center, Wario Ware and Elebits all basically spring releases now....

But I will pick up Rayman, Wii Play, Zelda, Monkey Ball, on Friday morning if they wont allow me to collect tommorow night...

I just hope to god Nintendo treat Europe better this gen than they did with the cube, but going on the slippages of launch titles that are out in the states, and the lack of component cables avaialbe for lauch, I cant help think Nintendo are going to screw us all again.

Car breaks down, I sleep it out, Smyths try force a bundle that I dont have the money to pay for, I get wii-knapped by 4 blokes that pull up in a van outside the shop entrance, My wii is faulty, and cant get a replacement till after xmas, zelda sells out, I smash my new lcdtv with the wii mote before I even playing anything, I really badly need a wii, and when I come back, all the wii's are sold out, I faint, I sprain every muscle in my upper body, making wii mote a sexy looking paperweight... etc..

Nah, get to bed early, get up at 7am, into Smyths for 8am, wait inline for awhile, stroll into Smyths. "Heres my prebook receipt" "Very good sir, here is your Wii and Zelda, have a nice day". I skip home and save Hyrule once more and all will be well.

I had the upmost pleasure to hold red steel today and 4x4 something or other but Red Steel which I don't give 2 f**ks about reviews. I thought about running out of the shop with it but what would be the point? Since Im getting the Wii in the same shop but it was like time stopping. I think I had a moment? but I can't believe it is only 2 days away 1 day now for some of yous reading this. Anyway I haven't been this excitted about a system in years!! Despite being told by the guys in gamestop that I am definetly getting a console, I won't believe it until I have my hands on it. Its at times like this that I thank god that the PS2 has dominated mass-market gaming for the last number of years. A lot of people won't be that interested in this.

Ten O'clock now - just 34 hours till gamestop opens.
