Ok so i have a Jap Tele with Bigsby tail-piece. Has anyone ever endured a regular string change on these things? Or am I going fookin mad, you have to try hold the damn string at both ends otherwise it slips off :mad::mad:

Does anyone know if there is an easier way I might have overlooked? Before I throw the thing thru the window in a fit of rage. It might play nice but jesus no guitar is worth this amount of hassle.

Gimme a bog standard Strat or Tele anyday.

One string at a time and use a capo to keep the string taut before you get it tight on the tuner.

I love the look of Bigsbys. Next on my shopping list will be an old Gretsch White Falcon with gold hardware a la Brian Setzer. Giggity giggity.

    Not a bad idea.
    Bit unconventional but feck it...

It's not as unconventional as you think ;) It's even more fun restringing Floyds :D

Just stick Elixir's on it and mark your calendar twice annually for it's poxy string change.

Many times before I've been able to put a new string on mid-gig while the band played on and I'd be ready to go by the next song. In that environment a Bigsby is more trouble than its worth.

Expect to see it on adverts.ie in the coming weeks!

True about Elixir's, delays having to change for that big longer. I wasn't looking forward to changing strings with the floyd rose on mine but it's pretty easy now. As long as you remember the steps and order. Stays in tune for months also.

As probably the foremost authority on Brian Setzer on boards.ie, I must say, he's not most noted for playing a White Falcon. Nevertheless, get one! They're super!

put the strings on the pins, get a triangular shaped wedge of foam and jam it between the body and the roller bar so the strings can't pop off, wind strings onto pegs
