What does anyone think about this particular point? Battlestar Galactica for example, an excellent show with top notch production values and acting output within the same genre.

My interest in the Star Wars tv series, whilst I'd still be looking forward to it, has somewhat waned in recent times due to BSG alone. I can see Star Wars being merely entertaining and of course, visually very pleasing but if the quality of the script and acting is anything remotely like 'Attack of the Clones' or 'Revenge of the Sith' then it's not going to go anywhere past the stage of being merely entertaining, which frankly isn't enough for me personally given, again, the high quality of rival sci-fi franchises like BSG.

I'm sure it'll do brilliant anyway, regardless. But just wondering what other peoples opinions are.

I see what you mean but it will relay only be decided by what time slot to show it in and also is it on a 10pm like BSG is in the states or do they show it at like 6pm like simpsons?

it depends on who they market the show to, they will make most money by marketing it to adults who watched the movies when they where younger because it means increased DVD sales when i was a kid i did not go buying full seasons on VHS while adults do buy VHS series

Also if they have it on at the same time as BSG, well that would be a interesting fight i would watch both of coarse but if i could only choose one it would be BSG as well

What if its on the same day/time as lost prison break jericho daybreak dexter any of a number of popular shows

If anything a Star Wars tv series would target kids as this is the audience that will most likely want to buy the action figures etc that has made Star Wars the money machine that it is.

yes sadly star wars was always far too childish thats why when i was a kid i loved star trek i found it more interesting than the rather simple story arc of star wars episode 4,5,6 which where the only ones out when i was a youngin

I wasn't saying that Star Wars was childish or simple, I love Star Wars. My point was just that Fox aren't going to go for a potential DVD market when they already have have a far more profitable and proven market in the toy/action figure sector.
