Looked for an mp3 player forum or something so mac product here i am.

I'm getting my boyfriend's iPod fixed, i did the thing on the internet where they send out a box and you put the iPod in and send it back etc. etc.
Anyway has anyone ever done this before? How long after filling out the form online will the box arrive? Just want to make sure I'll be at home or someone knows..
Also was there any surprise fees or charges before I send away. Thanks!

There are charges if the iPod is still under warranty, which I presume it is. The box should arrive within a few days at most.

Yeah a few days sounds about right. My ipod's hd failed but it was still under warranty, thankfully. They'll test the ipod and won't cover the repair if user error is the cause, i.e. you dropped it.

You might want to have the ipod ready to go, as the delivery guy put mine in the box right there at the door, gave me a receipt and took it instead of leaving the box and getting it collected as Apple said. Although this is what happened when I was getting my ibook battery replaced during the recall not long ago (although the battery had to be purged before posting). I suspect they often do this to save the cost of a third delivery.
