Technological evolution was rewrote when archaeologists digging in Scotland unearthed a network of metal cables 300 ft beneath the streets of Edinburgh. Scientists believe these prove evidence of an advanced telecommunications network dating back to the 3rd century.

Inspired by this discovery the English dug 600ft beneath the streets of London and found an intricate network of resin-coated copper cabling dating back to the Roman era. Again the world was awestruck.

The Irish, determined to discover their own ancient telecommunications dug 1000 ft beneath the ground at several historical sites but found nothing. Comreg, The Minister for Communications and Eircom issued a press release: "Ancient Wireless Network discovered in Ireland".
