First Come First Served Locations

Can we get a definite list of places that are first come first served and we dont need pre-orders

So far Tesco's bigger stores and Gamestop in Rathmines look like they dont have a pre order system, anywhere else?

The wife tried to pre-order one in Gamestop in Clare Hall yesterday ( I know it's a bit late but still ). Guy behind the counter told her that they will be getting 15 wii's and they have pre-orders for 13.

They won't take pre-orders for the remaining two as they will be a first come first served affair.

Looks like I'm getting up early on Friday!:(

Might get lucky in Tesco's Clare Hall though.

Dunno if this applies to all Virgin stores, but I was chattin to one of the guys in Virgin in Derry, and he said that they weren't takin pre-orders for them, it'd be first come first served. Worth checking out!

I tried Dixons (Just Liffey Valley, the rest wouldn't answer their phones :rolleyes:, I would suggest you try them) for you guys out of the kindness of my heart, and they are not sure if they are getting any. If they are, it's FCFS. Keep their number on speed-dial.

Virgin , Liffey Valley, have also sold out thier initial stock with POs.

You could always try Mr.Calculator too.

Just FYI for you guys, I've been told that Gamestop Rathmines is not going to be getting many units at all because it's only a new store and hasn't gotten any preorders, so will only get the leftovers pretty much. We'll only get a fraction of that which the other stores are getting.

Just letting ya know so you don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I had been in touch with Power City a few weeks back who said they would be getting them in and they would be on a first come first served basis. Definitely worth calling your local store to confirm.

Power City are a shower of bastards though. I went there the day of the 360 launch, was there when they opened, they came outside and told everyone "oh yeah we sold those yesterday". Don't count on them to be reliable.

Though nice for the Power City staff and their friends who got them the day before launch I guess

Cool, was in Virgin in Derry on Thursday evening, (on my way home to Moville for the weekend) and when I was at the till, I just asked the guy if they had all their pre-orders filled too, and he said they decided not to go by pre-orders, and it'd be first come first served on the morning.

Looks like there is not much happening in the way of first come first served places in Dublin, getting jealous listening to people talking about what number their pre-orders are...I don't have one..AHHHH! Gamestop rathmines is waste of time they will probably only have about 5 consoles (if any), Game dawson street midnight launch the first come first served consoles are only the extra ones they will be getting - which will be none since apparently they have taken 300 hundred pre-orders (according to a guy behind the counter today seems way to high -since HMV in grafton st have only 30 coming in - again apparently). Tesco and Dixons, look bad too, in tesco today (jervis st) i was told there weren't getting any before xmas..?? and dixons don't know whats going on -don't think they are going to get any before xmas (anyone know better?). Power city don't know and don't care as not leaving the city center. Argos according to one thread aren't getting any as they have no pre-orders, but was talking to a guy in Argos St Stephens green today and they said they were getting 4 in, 4 whole consoles.. but they were ordered over some argos reserve system over the phone.

Think if we don't have a pre-order we're not getting one....

I think I've finally accepted the fact that I'm going to get one on launch day in Dublin, but there's always the second shipment. There are bound to be loads more in before Christmas, it would be absolutely ridiculous for Nintendo not to supply the obviously huge demand when they have the consoles to ship (which they do)

I have rang Gamestop Henry Street,Game Henry street,Gamestop Clarehall,HMV Swords,Dixons HQ,Currys,and no luck yet...but i'm not gonna stop...i'm kinda thinking Tesco Clarehall won't have them either.

Dude it is even looking bleak for those that do have pre-orders. As I said in another thread, my sister had pre-orders in both Currys and HMV in Cork and both called today to tell her that they won't have any or enough for her.

I still haven't heard from Game Henry St, so I figure that I'm not getting any either.

The level of demand for Nintendo's home console has been so feverish that DSG Group – the parent company of High Street retailer Currys and PC World, as well as dixons.co.uk – expects that even with four separate delivery's between now and Christmas, it does not believe it can satisfy pre-orders until 2007
