I'm using a Dell 640M at the moment and I can't get full duplex sound, ie I can't hear what's coming from the microphone through the headphones. Anyone got any ideas cos I'm stumped :(

u don't have the mute selected under microphone do u??? (on the playback settings that is)

its possible alright i do it all of the time and i'm sure fey has in the past too

It should be possible. I can force playback through software in Audacity but the lag is ridiculous. Of course, to make things even more complicated, I'm no running XP although it didn't work under XP either

right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select adjust audio properties. select the voice tab and then test hardware. this should walk you through the setup.

it can't be that ****ed up like its only a software setting if the hardware is working in audicity surely????

have u got the mic enabled to playback as well as record???

i know i said this already but its the setting that does it for me all the time???

Nope, never worked. This is the first card I've come across in I don't know how many years that can't hear what's recording.
