Just Got Herpes

    Going unreg for clear reasons.

    Background:
I(21) met a girl(23) l8ly, we had sex after knowing each other a short while.

Within 2 days I have leisons(like pimples) on my pubic area. I reckon it is Genital Herpes. I am pretty sure that this girl gave it to me.

I'm in a daze & very pissed off as we used barrier protection. As I don't know this girl long, I can't be sure she knew she was infected.

I have booked an appointment at a STI clinic. My question is how other sufferers have dealed with it? I should feel like punching that girl, but I know that will solve nothing.

Anyway, how have others dealt with it? does it impact upon your sex life? Is there a future full of ''listen, before we do this, there is something you should know...'' ahead of me?

    Advice really appreciated

Are you sure it's not thrush?

Very easy to get and not even necessarily through sexual contact...

Do a bit of googling or see a doc before jumping to conclusions!

Wait until you see your doctor, and receive your diagnosis. I would also suggest refraining from sex in the meantime.

I've had a read of the charter, and I think this is allowed. If not, I apologise to the mods in advance.

Here's a link to some Herpes information.

    http://www.cdc.gov/std/Herpes/STDFact-Herpes.htm
Although the infection can stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tends to decrease over a period of years.
There is no treatment that can cure herpes, but antiviral medications can shorten and prevent outbreaks during the period of time the person takes the medication. In addition, daily suppressive therapy for symptomatic herpes can reduce transmission to partners.

I did not know that second one myself, it is pretty scary.

Yep herpes and genital warts the sti that keep on giving and condoms can't protect from.

It may not be herpes make an appointment and see your dr.

Using condoms is safer sex but there are sti that can be transfered from skin to skin contact.

    Aye, don't do this.

I've no desire to see violence advocated on this forum. Please refrain.

As I previously said, you can't assume anything until you receive a diagnosis from a GP.

I could be that she does not know that she has it, or is in denial about having something wrong.

Relax, I said I ''should'' feel like punching her. I don't though, I'm just really annoyed?worried/anxious.

Thanks for the quick replies. I would really like to hear from people who have experienced/still experiencing Herpes. Any thoughts appreciated.
I have yet to talk to her about it- I was going to wait for the results. The results take anything from 3 days to 2.5 weeks, depending on where you go.'

Could be "jock itch". FYI the groin area is prone to all sorts and types of "rashes, spots etc" that just appear due to anything like contact dermatitis you could have anything if you work out it could be a rash or something along those lines Dont beat yourself up about it. Hope your ok.
