I've Word 2003, and it won't show the full page until I click "View Headers and Footers), it's quite annoying having been used to word since the original Winword of Windows 3.11. I can't find a setting to enable/disable this function.

    Any ideas?

Nope. That doesn't work. I've tried that.

what happens when you change the view to print layout?
any chance of a screen shot of what you have / are looking for?
the print layout is the only other view i can think that matches what your looking for.

The layout stays the same when I choose print layout. I can see the left and right page borders. I can't see the top border, and the ruler on the left hand side starts at 0 where the top of the typing area/perceived page is.

However, when I click "View headers and footers", then suddenly, the top border appears, and where the ruler is, there is now an additional 2.5cm in negative figures (-1, -2, -2.5) up to the top of the page.

Your problem is that you have hidden the 'white space' somehow. Hover the mouse over the very top of the page and wait until it changes appearance and a yellow sticky comes up saying 'Show White Space'.

May not work for Word 2003 but that is the problem you have, try a help search or Google search making sure to stick 'show hide white space Word 2003' in the search.

Glad to be of service Sir, carry on folks, nothing to see here :D

I once had the same problem, took me over an hour to fix it, messing with the margins, the rulers, printing it out, looking at help files, blessing the screen with holy water, saying prayers, holing a séance... :) ...until eventually stumbling on the answer by accident :)
