    Hi Lads
I shoot Practical pistol and its great fun, has anyone thought of shooting practical airsoft?, have a look at the video and if you want to get involved in this we can have a ground up and running in no time.

Actually this is something that we discussed at yesterdays meet in Ashbourne and it sounds like a lot of fun. When you say you could have a ground up in no time are you considering running practical Airsoft alongside practical pistol? If that was the case we would have to be incredibly carefull when it came to safety proceedures. I know that safety is a major priority in Practical Pistol and if the two sports were run side by side I think the same safety proceedures would have to be followed by all parties. In saying that I should be picking up a 1911 (airsoft) in a couple of weeks and would be very interested in giving this a try. Do you have any sites in mind where we could do this?

Couldnt be run side by side NOIP, first of all as you said for safety reasons, second of all (as I have found) the airsoft pistols just dont have the oomph to perform the same as a fullbore firearm ergo the courses of fire would have to be somewhat different. Set up as a seperate/similar course of fire however it would be grand, the very same props (walls etc) we use for PP can be employed in the practical ranges, the real beauty of the airsoft is that you dont actually need a range at all just a bit of space!

Maybe we could organise something in a local community hall, our lads would do the safety course before the shoot, because we have the competition licence's I think we would be best suited to do a short course.
There is an ipsc practical licence, but you must do a 2 day course and pass the exam to receive it, but well worth doing.

You need to have your FB pistol licence first and be competitent with it VL. I'm sure there is a variation that could be done for airsoft though.
