How about the best acts seen live in the last year.
With the MCD thing still on don’t specify where you seen them, could have been anywhere in the world. Just name the act themselves and best song played.

Okkervil River – an emptyish 10 euro gig turned out to be one of the best of the year, also a great album, for some reason not available in Ireland.

Jeff Tweedy – “Ruling Class”, who doesn’t like a song about Jesus smoking crack. Bring on the new Wilco album.

Belle and Sebastian – best song “If She Wants Me/ I’m a Cuckoo”

    Sigur Ros
    – "Hoppipolla", amazing show (ripped off by Bell X1 in RDS.)

Beck – “Loser” intro with transition from puppets to live band

    Black Keys – “Your Touch”

    Eels
    – “My Beloved Monster”

    Flaming Lips
    – “Race for the Prize”, an almost perfect first tune

    Jim Noir
    – “Key of C”gnomes on stage

    Phoenix
    – “Napoleon Says” almost rivals Flaming Lips for best opening tune

    The Strokes
    – yes, I’m surprised they were good too, expected it to be rubbish

    Sufjan Stevens

    The Strokes

I would agree with both of these
    but
    Sufjan Stevens
have to disagree, I would have put this in most overrated live of 06 tread.

Muse Never saw the point move as one whole until before! Meeting the band afterwards also improved the experience.

Tapes n Tapes were good but the venue (the Village) sucked

Despite the fact that yes, the "MCD thing" doesn't apply to foreign shows I still think this thread is an awful idea as it's obvious that you all haven't travelled for these gigs. As the MCD legal issues haven't been resolved (and consider this isn't the Gigs/Events forum and they've already closed previous threads like this) I'm locking this thread. It is too much of a messy situation and will lead to further headaches for the good ship boards.
